Busy month of May

The month of May is a busy reading month for me.  I have a couple of Buddy Reads throughout the month with my fellow bookstagrammers. The books involved are Abide with Me by Elizabeth Strout, Twisted Love by Ana Huang, Trespasses by Louise Kennedy and My Extra Ordinary Life by Rebecca Ryan.

Have you read any of these?  I am looking forward to reading Trespasses as it has been shortlisted for The Women's Prize and I have read some great reviews.

The most exciting news is that it is my birthday on 12th May and my husband is sending me on a book retreat on 27th May.  I cannot wait.  My Instagram buddies @bookreccos girls hold one every year and this year it is in Fforest Barn in South Wales.  The venue is between The Llanthony Valley and the breathtaking Sugar Loaf mountains. We will be taking a day trip to Hay-on-Wye, the world's first Book Town, during the infamous Hay Festival.

We were all sent a book called Go As A River by Shelley Read.  This was posted to us beforehand to read and we are going to discuss it as a group.  The price also includes 2 nights' accommodation, all meals included, transportation to Hay, yoga classes and goodie bags.  I am so super excited to sit around and talk books all day with like-minded people.  The accommodation I have chosen is a green gypsy caravan and it looks amazing. You can also choose from tree houses, tents and a shepherd's hut! I will let you know how it all went as soon as I get back.

Also this month it is my son's birthday and my 19th wedding anniversary so lots of celebrating to be done.  I hope you all have a lovely month no matter what you are at.
